Our Story
Psalms Food Industries Ltd, founded in 2010 by Dr. Dennis Ngabirano (PhD) is an inspirational story of ambition, grit, resilience, and focus.
It all started in 2009 from a small cottage industry while Dennis was still pursuing his studies as an entrepreneurship student at the University where he was tasked to come up with a business plan as part of his study coursework.
Dennis’s initial business plan centered on the idea of goat rearing which he named “Ngabi Stock Farm”. On submission of the coursework, his lecturer insisted on the practical implementation of the business plan before he could pass this course unit. The implementation was halted due to lack of funds and other required resources, as thus, Dennis was forced to put it on hold.
name in Uganda. The company has introduced 2 new brands; Afrikan Harvest whose products cater to the needs of the health-conscious consumer hence focusing on organic snacks and Krunchables that caters to the tastebuds and preferences of children.
In his third year of studies, Dennis wedded his long-time fiancée Maureen and while on their honeymoon in Mombasa, they came across a street food vendor who was frying raw banana chips. After tasting the snack, Dennis thought up a similar business model, but focused on the use of ripe sweet plantain (commonly known as Gonja in Uganda) as the raw material. He immediately dropped his earlier class coursework and embraced gonja snack manufacturing as his new business plan. Needless to say, he passed the coursework and fully implemented it as a real business; the birth of Psalms Food Industries Ltd, a first in Uganda!
Fifteen Years later and fast forward into the future, Psalms Food Industries Ltd is the leading manufacturer of quality foods and snacks in Uganda with a 22,648 sqm factory facility producing snacks like crispy potato crisps, sweet plantain chips (gonja), baked products, extruded snacks, peanut butter and different flavors of wholesome honey.

We are also in the process of constructing a water treatment plant on our premises that will clean all waste water from our production processes and recycle it for reuse.
